The hall is set in the heart of this attractive village just over 2 miles from Saffron Walden. Originally built in around 1850 it was gifted by Lord Braybrooke to the church for Sunday School use during the 19th century but it now serves the whole community. The hall is managed by a volunteer management committee and through sustained village fundraising and grants the hall was substantially refurbished a few years ago. It now offers excellent facilities of a main hall (36′ by 22′), fully equipped kitchen, toilets, disabled access, parking for up to 12 vehicles and an enclosed garden area.
The hall accommodates up to 100 people (60 seating) and is available for hire on a regular or one off basis. Wendens Ambo is a social village and event at the hall include a children’s pre-school (run each weekday morning, please click here for more information), WI, Carpet Bowls, Pilates, Yoga, Art class, Quiz nights and the occasional village party. It is also popular for childrens parties, celebrations, fund raising events and a variety of other communal activities.
