Who Are We?
The club is a prostate cancer support group, based at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, whose object is to provide those who are under investigation; have been diagnosed; or have been treated for prostate cancer with mutual and informal professional support, whether or not they are a Broomfield patient. It is an opportunity not only to gain knowledge but also to pass on your own knowledge and experiences to other members of the club, before; during; or after treatment.
There is no formal membership or fees and participation is open to all who have a prostate cancer related interest.
The group holds regular meetings (normally from 17.00 to 19.00 on the last Monday in each month unless that is a Bank Holiday when we usually skip that month’s meeting) in the Medical Academic Centre at the hospital which is by the “South Entrance” (Quadrangle) for patients and their partners to provide support, to learn from each other’s experiences and to receive and disseminate information about current prostate cancer treatment and developments.
Whenever possible we feature a guest speaker or a presentation.
