Having recently become a Registered Charity, no. 1191431, Tendring Time Bank is based in Clacton-on-Sea, but, as our name suggests, forming hubs all over Tendring, linking existing community groups and organisations to a web of interlinked members offering or needing help. Donations can be made to our Charity through our Facebook Page or Website, or by signing up with Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile, and naming Tendring Time Bank as your preferred cause. When you make an online purchase from one of the 3000 suppliers registered with Easyfundraising, including comparison sites, holiday bookings and Just Eat etc, they will make a donation to our cause. By downloading the Donation Reminder, a prompt will pop up asking if you want to activate a donation, at no extra cost to you.
In the Clacton Centre, we run social activities, as requested by members, Craft days, Art, Men’s Day, Family Research and a very popular Drop-in Group, where we play board games or cards. Due to our no longer opening on Mondays, Creative writing, Maths and Money Management groups have been disbanded, but help is still available in these subjects on an individual basis.
We also offer to help, wherever we can with updating CVs, online facilities available for research, online training or job searching. We can help with occasional requests for gardening, housework, form filling or helping resolve disputes. Telephone calls can be made on your behalf if you are hard of hearing or have restricted communication skills.
A friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with refreshments available for a small deposit in our donation box, if you can.
Items for sale in our retail area have all been made or donated, with collections of Myth and Magic, Thimbles, painted glass, jigsaws, Video tapes, DVDs CDs and Vinyl records, glassware, trinkets, costume jewellery, buttons, books, British and foreign stamps.
There is a variety of crafting equipment available, with instructions on usage from our in-house expert. Knitting and crochet patterns and instruction available, along with plethora of knitting needles and crochet hooks as well as wool and some fabric.
If we can’t help you, we can usually signpost you to another organisation that can help.
