Maldon’s first zero waste, refill shop!
Hello and welcome to SILO, Maldon’s first refill shop!  We are sisters Charlotte and Lucie. We founded Silo because we believe it should be possible to shop without buying all the excess packaging that is so damaging to the environment.
At SILO you will find a huge range of loose wholefoods, cleaning product refills and ethical items for the home.
We only work with suppliers who share our values and ensure everyone is paid a fair wage along the supply chain. We are extremely proud that our cleaning products come from SESI, who are a social enterprise committed to change. Our cleaning products, hair and body care, olive oil and rapeseed oil are supplied on a circular reuse system where our large containers are returned to SESI for refill.
We have lots of ethical items for the home. We specialise in sustainable toiletries; bamboo toothbrushes, washable face wipes, reusable menstrual products, deodorants, soaps and lotions. We only work with brands who are focused on creating natural, eco-friendly and sustainable products with our environment in mind. Do come in and ask us about any of our products, we love to chat and we’ve tried them all!

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
SILO the physical shop is closed but we are open online for click and collect or home delivery orders. The shop is small and we were finding it difficult to maintain social distancing. We have turned the shop into a packing station for the time being. All food is packed into paper bags or repurposed containers using a no touch technique.
If you choose to click and collect your shopping will be labelled and left outside the shop for you to collect. We are staggering collection times so that we don’t have too many people walking down Bright’s Path at once.
If you choose to have your shopping delivered it will be left on your doorstep. The delivery driver will knock and move away from the door. Please don’t open the door until they have moved away. This is for our safety and yours. There will be a small charge for delivery.
