Purrs Cat Rescue operates entirely based on volunteers with no paid staff. As a charity, we have a duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of our members and volunteers. Their mental health is as important as their physical well-being and we strictly enforce our zero tolerance policy:
Our volunteers expect to be treated in an acceptable, respectful manner. Any incident in which a volunteer is abused, threatened, or assaulted whilst assisting Purrs Cat Rescue is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This includes any incident of verbal abuse, aggressive tone and/or language and swearing/foul language, regardless of in person, on the telephone or via social media. Our volunteers should not be left upset and distressed following an interaction with a member of the public. All instances of actual physical abuse or threatening behaviour towards any of our members or volunteers will be reported to the police.
The following policies are in place and will be adhered to when rehoming the cats in our care:
- Kittens are rehomed in bonded pairs
- Cats are always neutered, vaccinated, flea’d, wormed, chipped and health checked before being rehomed.
- A video tour will be required of your home, in place of a home visit.
- An adoption fee is payable to reserve the cat(s), which is £150 per cat.
