The Pilgrim Centre
The Pilgrim Centre is a community space which Saint James The Great Church promotes for health, education, well-being, culture, craft and social inclusion purposes.
We are looking to open our ground floor up as a community warm space in the winter using our fully-equipped kitchen. We would like to provide hot drinks and soup in the Pilgrim Room which looks out over the patio area.
It is easily accessible from the town centre, just a two-minute walk from the Pilgrim Centre and Colchester Town Train Station, which is just a ten-minute walk away. It is also accessible easily by bus (many local buses stop outside Greyfriars Hotel). There are pay and display car parks on Priory Street or Castle Road, both near Pilgrim Centre.
The Pilgrim Centre is accessible via Priory Street to wheelchair users.
The Pilgrim Centre is made up of a large L-shaped room, a kitchen, an accessible toilet, patio area, kitchenette, three smaller rooms on the first floor, toilets, attic rooms and a cellar.
