Colchester Carers Creative is a daytime peer support activity group for unpaid carers of an adult (14+) with a learning disability (which may include autism or other disabilities too).
We meet to share and enjoy art and craft projects, with most equipment and supplies free of charge. Refreshments are also provided and you are welcome to bring along a lunch as we will break for half an hour. Essex Carers Network resources and information will also be available and staff on hand to discuss caring issues should you wish.
Research has shown that unpaid carers can experience physical and mental ill health as a result of the stress of their caring role. Having a break from that caring role and participating in creative activities can support wellbeing and help unpaid carers to continue supporting their loved one.
