We call ourselves a ‘Community Church’ and as such, our character is to encourage, support and resource the people of Chelmsford – and particularly those in the immediate area around us. We believe in community.
Chelmsford Community Church was born out of the house-church movement, around 40 years ago. As time has gone by, there have been many changes to the way we do things.
We are not governed by any other organisation, but we are affiliated to Ground Level. The leadership team have total responsibility for how the church operates, although much advice is taken before decisions are made. We have excellent relationships with many of the other Pastors in Chelmsford, India and the Ukraine.
Chelmsford Community Church meets every Sunday at 9:30am and then again at 11:15am for our Sunday Services. We aim to finish our first service by about 10:40am and our second service by about 12:30pm.
Room Hire
Chelmsford Community Church has several rooms which are available to hire.
It can accommodate general bookings to use the space(s) for meetings, classes, activities and also can accommodate children’s party booking.
It should be noted that in line with the church’s charitable trust and in acknowledgement of close residential neighbours we do not take bookings that could include gambling or the consumption of alcohol. Bookings may be taken up until 7:30pm in the evening.
The following rooms are available:
- Main Hall:Â Â The large main auditorium of the church, suitable for parties or larger meetings or classes.
- Community Cabin:Â Â A large, well insulated separate log cabin.
- Garden Room:Â Â A medium-sized, similarly insulated log cabin.
- Trent Room:Â Â A smaller meeting room equipped with soft chairs, suitable for less formal small meetings.
