Broxted Village Hall started life as a World War I army hut and was brought to the village in the 1930s. Since then it has served as the centre of village activities for over 80 years.
Since 2012 the hall is has been extensively refurbished, thanks to grants from a number of sources including Uttlesford District Council and the Big Lottery Awards for All fund. The exterior has been completely re-clad, the interior modernised and re-decorated and a new ladies toilet constructed.
The main hall, measuring 15m x 8m, is ideal for parties, dances, sales and other events. It comfortably seats 100 at tables and 150 ‘cinema’ style. A small stage complements many activities. The well equipped kitchen has crockery and cutlery for 100 servings.
