NHS Essex partnership
They run these 3 groups:
1.Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Awareness and Support Group (21+)
Held every fortnight on a Wednesday 10-12pm with a break. Run on MS teams with an invite only. Guest speakers are regularly invited to deliver
talks on different topics such as services available within the community, managing emotions, benefits and employment, advocacy, sleep hygiene, practical activities, etc.
Aims to teach skills to help manage common difficulties such as emotional dysregulation and resilience.
2. Young Adult Awareness and Support Group for Complex Emotional Needs (18 – approx. 22 years old.)
The aim of this group is to provide an environment in which young adults of transition age (18) within Essex, who might meet criteria for EUPD D (i.e.
they might have traits), but are still ‘working out’ what’s going on for them, can be supported in managing the practicalities of transitioning from adolescence to adulthood including managing emotions, starting employment, interpersonal relationships etc.
These groups run 3 weekly, 4 – 6pm on a Thursday. At present, these groups are run on MS Teams, on an invite-only basis. We have a recurring 10 session timetable.
When a young adult reaches their 8th session, we will discuss with them next steps.
3. Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Peer Support Group
These groups run weekly, Tuesday’s at 12 – 1pm. At present, these groups are run on MS Teams, on an invite-only basis. The group is a 1-hour session,
facilitated by the peers that attend. Peers are invited to share how they are feeling and support each other through their lived and learned experience. An
opportunity for Peers to support each other through their own experiences.
Professionals must complete an expressions of interest form for each group to ensure that the group’s function will match your client’s presentation and individual needs.
