The Billericay Men’s Shed is a charity that caters for three individual groups:
The Monday Cuppa and Chat Session is for men to meet up to converse and forge new friendships, which helps many of those attending combat isolation and loneliness particularly following retirement and loss of loved ones.
The Tuesday Session is a Woodworking Group where men can meet to hone their woodworking skills and share tips etc. However, like the Monday Group, it is also a place for men to meet like minded people to chat and meet new people.
The Wednesday Session is for both men and women who are suffering from dementia and, together with their carers, can come along, meet other people in a similar situation and share stories.
In addition to this, the volunteers at the Wednesday Session are there to help oversee various activities our members can participate in, such as singing, quizzing and crafting, always with an emphasis on everyone having fun. Meanwhile the carers can have some respite for a couple of hours each week, in the knowledge that their loved ones are happy and safe.
