We are part of the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives of young people in Brentwood by offering 6 to 18-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Members of 1st Warley Scout Group take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, sailing, climbing, abseiling, fire-lighting, cooking, orienteering, expeditions overseas, raft building, zorbing, axe throwing, archery, air rifle shooting, obstacle courses, first aid and craft evenings, visiting local community groups (Buddhist centre / Animal Sanctuaries) and much more. There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express creativity and experience the wider world.
We are the largest Scout Group in Brentwood District with approximately 150 young members, 27 leaders, 13 young leaders and an active team of helpers / Exec members. We have 2 Beaver colonies (age 6-8) , 2 Cub packs (age 8-10 1/2), 2 Scout troops (age 10 1/2-14) and 1 Explorer group (age 14-18) who meet each week during term time.
As we are currently rebuilding our HQ, we are currently meeting at Thriftwood Campsite in Brentwood and 1st Shenfield Scouts HQ. We have waiting lists for some groups so please get in contact if you would like to join us or become a leader / young leader.
