Maldon Fitsteps for the Over 50’s is an accredited Ramblers Association Walking for Health scheme coordinated and led by volunteers. Scheme Details and Dates can be found via the Walking for Health web site.
Fitsteps offers a choice of walks, three times a week across the Maldon District and the South Chelmsford area. The healthwalks are scheduled on a weekly basis and include two walks of up to 4 miles (under 90 minutes) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a Friday Beginners walk at the Maldon Promenade Park which is 1 to 1.5 miles (30 minutes). Extra healthwalks are scheduled in the Dengie area on Thursdays. All walks start at 10:00 and are led by at least one Walk Leader together with one Back Marker.
All the walks are FREE and mainly on Public Rights of Way footpaths. The paths are generally easy to walk on and are either flat or have a very slight gradient.
