Creating a community of people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
Essex Recovery Foundation aims to build a visible recovery community who will use their voice to influence how services function and change perceptions of addiction and recovery.
Our mission
There are four key stages to our mission which we call “The Cycle of Growth and Change”. This is an ongoing process which will continually develop.
We want to introduce community-led commissioning of drug and alcohol recovery services in Essex. By enabling the community to take ownership of their recovery, we hope that services will be better tailored to the needs of those who use them, and that outcomes will improve. Our model will give a voice to those who are too often silenced by stigma and judgement. All of this is crucial for increasing engagement with recovery services. We are starting in Essex, but we want to scale this model as widely as we can so that everyone affected by drug and/or alcohol addiction gets the help they need.
